went back to the dealer as three major motorfactors in the UK do not sell all the parts to sort the prop - but buying all from them isn't going to cut it either - main dealer wants US$319 each for the donut kits at either end
but he did say in his 40 years man and boy as Merc parts guy its the bushes inside the donut that cause the vibration on the motorway - he then went on to say not many buy them - but its these bushes part 20 and 60 (that I guess get stressed when center bearing housing collapses that are the bits you need to change)
but they are silly money US$77 and US$ 60 USD each end and he wanted US$465 for the three parts on the centre bearing - housing, bearing and bellows
so every 70 k miles you need to spend $1240 in parts/ plus 4 hrs to fit so the prop shaft goes round - what a sick joke
as for the bushes they only have one of one size, and 10 of the other end across the whole of the UK - As of July 2025 Mercedes UK has over 130* sites of which over 110* are full dealerships
