Hi all. I have ordered a set of clear led taillights for my 2008 Mercedes s550 4matic. I didn’t realize the wiring was different as these ones were meant for a newer year version of the w221. What wires would I need to swap/cut and solder in place of each other to make it all work? They currently turn on but seems the brake lights are illuminating the daytime running lights and vise versa with daytime running illuminating the running lights

Anyways... search for "w221 facelift taillight retrofit" and you will find loads of information.
Don't cut any wires yet. The pin assignments in the connector are different between the pre-facelift and facelift W221 models. You need a wiring adapter harness to convert the signals, not cut and solder. Search for a "W221 facelift taillight adapter" specific to your model year. This is the safe and correct way to make them work.
