Can you remove yours far enough to double check the part number, or is this a improvement/modification project? I'm curious about this also, as mine has developed distortion, and I've just turned the fader to the front only and am ignoring the problem for now but need to fix it eventually.

they die because the amp isn't powerful enough to stop the speaker cones hitting their mechanical end stops - this clipping if pushed further can burn out the coils till 100% dead
when fitting aftermarket speakers you actually want easier to drive (more efficient speakers / lower wattage speakers) not some higher watt jokes that will give the under powered amp a harder life - unless you upgrade the amp which due to the stupid design merc choose is hard work and expensive
just fitting higher wattage speakers will
a) give lower sound output meaning you will likely push the amp even further beyond its pathetic limits
b) sound worse as the amp that couldn't cope before will struggle to get them to move them
c) be a waste of time and money
A bit lost with figuring out the models for the HK rear parcel speaker unit.
MB lists four different part numbers, all priced differently. Any clue as to the difference- other than cosmetic?
Parcel shelves have several variations...
Individual rear seat... No centre headrest or belt. No Isofix.
Centre rear seat. No Isofix.
Individual rear seat... No centre headrest or belt. Isofix.
Centre rear seat. Isofix.
There may also be variations for leather covered and Premium audio, but not near my computer to accurately verify either the numbers you have given or the options.

Current parcel shelf speaker is ripped (as were all the other speakers) and the model I have is as per photo below. The wrecker from whom I bought the the HK set had the rear woofer unit sold separately prior so awaiting on another shipment of parts (and these are far and between apparently because demand for used w221 parts is almost non-existent, except for the Balkans, Russia and region, and Syria.
