Although you may think that I was being fed some BS, I can assure you that I have my numbers straight.

Although I'm leaning more toward the coupe variant (that judgment will be made when it's actually released), I test drove the new S Class yesterday... The wife was impressed with the back seats! :-) She is not a car person, and could care less about the rest of the car... The fact that she loved the backseats so much confirmed to me how smooth and quiet and refined this vehicle really is! Now, the thing is, myself or my wife would rarely be riding in the back seat, so the fact of having the executive rear seats doesn't really matter to me... It's just how quiet and refined the ride of the vehicle is... Of course, it was a test drive, and I was messing around with the audio (although I kept it at low volume most of the time) and stuff and talking and all, but the cabin was extremely quiet... I never really heard the engine, even under heavy acceleration... I honestly don't know if I would even get an AMG variant... Very impressed with this vehicle and the level of quality of this build.... It is on par with my Bentley... Now, this had the standard leather.... So I am sure once I experience one that has all of the amenities, it will be advantage S Class!!!!

Oh, and just got word from my dealer. They have an S63 unspoken for. Should be here in 20 days. My name is on the car. Very excited.
Silver/Black
Upgraded wheels
Heat and Comfort
Night view
Splitview
Driver Assist
Air Balance
Could do without a few of the options, but I'll take it at this point. If not seems like I will be waiting for 3-5 months for the car...

Saabkyle04 provides the most in-depth reviews of automobiles, I dont think anyone else goes to the extent that he does, I am surprised why he does not have millions of subscribers on youtube.

SaabKyle is awesome. His reviews really showcase cars in class. I just wish he drove them as well.
One thing that bugs me about the new S is how lo-fi the instrument "fake analogue gauges" graphics look. BMW's look far more sharp and precise, to the point where you can't tell they're graphics. I don't get why M-B just didn't use classy mechanical gauges which would fit the car much better as well (think of it as like an artificial vs mechanical watch). Not to mention, lo-fi "fake gauges" are a great way to prematurely date a car as technology moves rapidly. A W221 shows its age most when you start the car up and see the grainy instrument graphic, and considering the W222's don't look that much more realistic, the same will happen here.

Great review with a lot of good info. There is a factual error or two though. He says the panorama roof only raises which is incorrect. It also slides back. Moreover, it has a cool feature of closing automatically if the rain sensor detects rain and the car is standing.

I guess era of mechanical gauges is slowly going away. First I spotted completely graphical instrumental panel at XJ and I thought it is cool, although certainly low resolution graphics was noticeable. I think we need just a little use to the new approach of drawing instrumental panel. I assume it is more expensive in production for now, when Corolla will have it, we shouldn't worry anymore.

I like analog gauges but what's good about the digital instrument panel is you can customize them in accordance with your preferences ie W222 S63 AMG's can be added two more dingy gauges next to speedometer and RPM , pretty cool
Howeever, I don't know if you add these in your non AMG W222s
Anyway, utilizing the benefits of the digital gauges is wicked
