Executive Rear Seat (based on the german site) - You can recline with a footrest but still can maintain the 3 seat configuration. IN US DOG - Option 453 in 397 package probably refers to that.

I like the Edition 1 package - with a white S-Class. Wonder if that will be the launch edition in the US.
Best way to get the Designo leather interior from the get-go...

Are you referring to the German site in Euro or making a guess for the US?
A fully loaded launch edition (Designo) S550 should cost around $130k to $135k in the US. The German version with VAT sits at 160k Euro. That sounds realistic...
When comparing our 2013 SL on the German site, I land at 147k Euro. The same car here is $121k

As far as I know, unfortunately the "old Lincoln" steering wheel look probably will be the only choice unless opting for an AMG model.
MercPlease: You have a Tesla Model S Performance? Have you written a review about it somewhere? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts considering your experience with many high up M-B models.

I was driving cross country in it and got caught in the Oklahoma tornado mess. Was low on battery so I called up a bunch of hotels to find one that had an EV port. Thought I found one. Turned out it was literally just a 120V with an "Electric Vehicle" sign stuck to it. Considering the fact it would take 2 weeks to charge off that, I didn't think to bring a 120V adapter. Car battery ended up dying completely (uses energy to maintain battery when not in operation), messing up some of the electronics. Should be out of the shop this week.
Here's a crappy iPhone photo (you can see the "EV Charger" behind it):

Wow! Looks great.
That's insane about driving cross country with it! Considering it took a disaster like that to throw you off charging route, I'd still say it's impressive that you actually took it cross country. Tesla is building their own designated charging stations rapidly so I'm sure in the near future even in a disaster situation like that, you would have found something accessible. Another thing they could do is their own version of AAA, like a guy who can come and give you some charge.

Yea, I can't wait for the network of superchargers to be installed. They have a "ranger" program where you pay a fee (~$200, I forget) and they come to your house to service it. Just a pain because the nearest service center from where I was at the time was St. Louis. I just called Geico and they towed it for free to a friends house 250 miles away for me. Then Tesla came to pick it up.
It's even more annoying because Tesla thought they fixed the problems and they drove it back to my friends house so I could have Intercity Lines come pick it up but when the tow truck driver was taking it off the truck a whole bunch of error messages came back up... Back to the St. Louis service center! Hopefully it is actually fixed this time LOL...

As listed in my sign
Im in love with this car, I talked to the sales guys over here and he told me the car will be around $180k, and that's too much when Im sure I can get the S63 imported from the US with the same price or less than that.

In the past, Mercedes has had a strict policy to prohibit exporting vehicles from the US unless they are at least two years old. When I purchased my vehicle, I had to sign a statement that I would not export it.

One of my father's friends found out from someone at Gargash that the S400 Hybrid will be AED 500,000 and the S500 will be AED 600,000. Sales guys usually overstate the price.

2014 Mercedes S550
Does anyone think we'll be able to negotiate the prices this fall, or will the dealers hold firm on their prices until the end of the next year?
Can't wait to see them on the lot...
