I have been in love with the S-Class line since I was 18. I finally placed an order for the new S550, for a November build and also got 4% off the MSRP. I could not order the Black Popular trim but other than that I was able to get all the options I wanted. I should be getting the car in December. I hope the lease rates will not be terrible.

Crap, it looks like the ordering is not linear. It must be dealership dependent. How is it that I placed my order 2 months ago and you have a production date and ETA???

Is there a waiting list? My dealer(Caliber motors of Anaheim, CA) is telling me 4 to 5 months, would hate to get one off the lot.

It's each dealers allocations. I believe OPs dealer had an allocation that he had existing un-spoken for and when he decided on it they made the changes to his build. It was probably bound to be a lot car.

I know for me I was checking in with my dealer last week via email and he just tried to alter an allocation he had to h10 (carbon/piano trim) which was the only thing holding my build up and it went through. So I got the 12/10 production. I was originally destined for a January build

So my guess is either your dealer has a long line of customers or they don't get many allocations.

If you are really eager and want to try, maybe call around and see if there are available builds at another dealer you can change.

I would like to do that, but how come it feels like I'm sticking my dealer to a car.....kind of like I'm bailing on a baby we made together....

I think you may be over-thinking the situation. If you want an s550 ASAP then I would call around. If it means driving a distance to do so and by your posts you seem eager, I think its worth it

As for your dealer, I wouldn't worry about it. If the car has arrived at your dealer and you back out I could maybe understand. But you don't have a production date so as far as I'm concerned it's only one step further than building one on mbusa.com. Except you may have put down a deposit.

Besides, from your other posts it doesn't seem like you are going to get a discount anyway so really nothing to lose by putting feelers out there.

It's all about how eager you are to get one before 2014.

Kratos - for when you placed your order you should know when you are getting your car. If you called my dealer, he may be able to hook you up with a car that they may be able to fit your configuration on ASAP

The dallas dealer was going to do a January build european delivery with a 7% discount but my current E350 lease is up in Jan so I decided to go with the Florida dealer. To get non european delivery in Dallas is close to 3-4 months wait and no discount.

Also is the H10 trim available only on an S63 ?

I put down the minimum deposit which was $2,000. I guess I need to ask for it back. From what I've read from you guys, I should have a build date by now. Looks like I must have a super high volume dealer who are way over their allocation.

The dealer I ordered through is Mercedes Benz of Houston North. I went to their lot 2 weeks ago just to see what they looked like, and they have a TON of cars there. So I must be behind a lot of people on my order.

Kratos - you should have ordered through MB Georgetown. They had another November build unspoken for - up until 2 weeks ago. Not sure if it's still there but worth the call

The problem with a big dealer like Houston is that they usually have more orders than allocations.

My local dealer (MB Manhattan) where I bought my last 3 cars gave me an estimated build date post January. "Likely March". Took back my deposit and did European delivery with a dealer in CA with 10% off and 12/12 delivery.

That is a nice car. I'm anxious to see the real thing. I question why you ordered the chauffeur package unless you have a driver. Otherwise, it just increases your lease price with no benefit to you if it's a personal car.

If it was a purchase, maybe the resale value would be favorable due to the commercial value to a second owner.
