I ordered a S550 with the Exclusive Nappa leather but my sales rep says that the MB system has not accepted the option because they only make a certain amount of cars with that option. If the system will not accept the option by the last change date (next week) I may just wait for another car.

Has anyone else encountered this?

I had a similar situation in discussing ordering my new S550 with my dealer. It wasn't that they will only build so many cars with the option- but their supply inventory for expected orders of that option (and thus the materials needed) was grossly underestimated (as was the demand for the car itself). It is more a question of being able to resupply to meet demand.

I solved the problem, though- I just picked up an S63 instead!

To add to what investorsc said.....I also think that as the cyber world progresses, customers are more informed of what a car has to offer than we were seven years ago. This is why the exclusive is backed up. I have to be honest.....I never knew about any leather upgrades when I bought all of my other S classes in the past. Just never took the time to research....just bought whatever was on the lot and thought it was the best. Pure ignorance.....


No excuses now.....this will be my best S class yet....
