I finally put my order in for a 2015 S550 4Matic as the delivery date for the 2014 model is very near to the launch of the 2015 model anyways. Below are the colour and options that I have chosen on my car (which are subject to change when the 2015 packages are out). Delivery is supposedly slated for the fall of 2014.

I decided to forgo the the Premium Rear seating package as the option for powered rear seats in Canada is $6000 (as it includes four zone climate control and other things of which I do not need) and honestly, the rear seats are comfortable in the standard configuration. I would add the power rear seats if they were only $2000 like the package in the US. I also did not get the Night View Assist Plus as I live in the city and never really venture into the suburban winding roads (and I kind of found it a little distracting on my extended test drive if anything).

This confirms what my Sales person is telling me. We can place 2015 orders starting Monday with production starting in March. I'll be doing European Delivery and will be back living in the US when it arrives.

 

Heated windscreen with a new HUD? Pretty cool!

 

Really? They don't have that in the US?? They had one in the showroom. From afar, it was like just normal Black, but when you are at an angle or in bright day light, they you can see some bronze/graphite undertone to it.

They didn't tell me when the production for the 2015s are, but are approximating the deliveries for the fall of 2014.

 

Maybe it's just a Canada package... It's basically the package with distronic plus, active blind spot assist, active lane keep assist, etc. Basically it's the package that is full of safety features for only $2700!

 

The perdiot brown is like the picture below. However the colour is not really like that in person. It seems much darker and not as brown.

And no, no rear fridge option. I personally never will use it haha.

The new options are available from February 3 and can be delivered starting from the 3rd Week of March.

Yes, sure, the same electric defroster as for the rear window but with (almost) invisible wires on the windshield.

Cheap Ford cars have had this probably ten years already.

 

Congrats, if I ordered an S Class W222 I would love to have premium rear seat package but in your case why pay a few grands more for an item that you would barely use .So, that's a good point

Yes, I wanted to wait for the newer model as usually first year models tend to have a few more problems. I also wanted to have the new touchpad controller haha .

I forgot to mention that I also purchased the prepaid maintenance programme for 4 years for $1949 as my BMW comes with the prepaid maintenance and I also purchased a similar programme for my Audi but it was only $750 for 4 years. I just noticed how Benz tend to be a lot more expensive then the other two haha.

 

The touchpad I guess is a must just to make it clear that the car is a later MY. But I have not seen any presentation how it works compared to the standard keypad, is there any (touchpad appears to be an option on the W222 even if it is standard on a W205 with Comand on-line).

It isn't obvious that the touchpad is more convenient for all use cases.

 

I know... I just want to have the latest and greatest haha, which is totally not possible in today's technologically advanced society.

 

I just ordered my 2015 S-550 4-Matic in early April. Manufacturing was started on the 28th of April and completed and at the dock on the 3rd of May. It is currently scheduled to be delivered to the port in Baltimore on the 14th of May. Not sure how long it takes to get to the dealership once it arrives at the Port.

That was quick. My build date was advanced from August to June but the order was from late 2013. US/NA orders have very much higher priority.

Hopefully your car arrives with the correct colour. Mine was ordered as 988 but at some point it got to 998. The same thing happened to someone else at the forum. My dealer noticed this well in time (hope it will not get changed another time).

 

Wow - that's really quick from ordering to build to delivery.

I placed the order for my 2015 S550 4MATIC in April. I have a build date of June 17th. The dealer anticipates receiving the car in late July or early August.
