Customized Special Order 2015 S550 - The wait begins

So much for that idea.

I wonder if I take out the refrigerator, with the 3D sound system, will a extra full spare fit. This would help for the long trips through "nowhereland."
You do not need to remove the fridge option. In any case you can temporarily remove the fridge when ever you want to have more trunk space. Also the fridge stands on top of the trunk floor and if there is enough space under the trunk floor, the fridge would not make any difference (other than you might need to remove the fridge when accessing the spare).
I thought the sound system took space from the side of the trunk, not from the floor but I'm not sure at all. This would anyway be "permanent loss of trunk space".

"Spare Tire Part # 2224000700 and the our computer does show it and was listed a cost of $645.00. However, there is a message that states "Suspended for Sale" does not authorize for US Market: Based on our information from Parts Assistance center, they do not offer a spare tire for this model. Now I know you mentioned you read it in the Owners Manuel: Please note that some of this information is based on European and or Canadian information, and may not apply to USA vehicles."
Buying a space saver spare - atleast from the dealer - is a no-go.

I think the part number for the W221 will work on our W222's. The bolt pattern is the same - my only concern is the wheel offset for caliper clearance. If I need more clearance, I have options for spacers. I'll cross that bridge when I get there...

I wonder if they are going to eventually come up with something...

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I had only seen pictures of those tables in silk beige color and then I eventually saw one in black so I figured they were going to give me the black ones.
I didn't realize the center of those tables were leather. I was very excited to find out yesterday that as part of my custom interior package that they were willing to custom make the folding tables with the matching Auburn Brown leather.
I think that will look really great. I am really excited to see my car as I feel it is going to look and feel very luxurious. Just waiting to find out when my production date is going to come.
Hopefully soon, but I am sure not soon enough.
or
depending on my mood.

First, about the run flats.
I test drove a S class with the 19 inch run flats and then right after with the 20 inch run flats.
My impressions are that the run flats with the 19 tires are really not bad at all. In fact, I am sure I would not think of replacing them if I had ordered the 19 inch wheels.
I do think the 20 inch wheels were noticeably different with the run flats than the 19 with run flats. I am thinking of changing from the 20 inch run flats to the Dunlop tires.
I just wish I knew what the difference would be. Others have changed, but I am not certain they were the 20's.
Does anyone know if changing from the 20 inch run flats to non run flats will ride better than the 19 inch with the run flats.
Of course, I realize who could answer such a question with any degree of certainty but knowing others impressions would certainly be helpful.

I thought it would be helpful to others if I showed the difference on each so I look pictures of each dash with the same image. Remember this is from a camera so it may not be exact but I think it certainly gives you the correct impressions.
Below is what I found which should give you an idea of the difference between the SPLITVIEW and not having the SPLITVIEW
SPLITVIEW

No SPLITVIEW

It is not cheap.
It comes two ways:
With Night View Assist - List price is $2,020 plus tax plus about two hours labor which at my dealer is $380.
Without Night View Assist - Price is not available yet.
I believe you can get the part about $400 cheaper on the internet. The part number is 222 880 02 83 9040 for the one with Night View Assist, but of course, this part number needs to be verified.

What is true is that because of the efforts of those you mentioned, there is now an approved non run flat 20" tire that can be installed by the dealer or others once the car comes. In this case you would order the tire kit from the parts department.
