Quote: That really sucks. If they are still using run flats on the 20" wheel, MB should state it. They know of the ride problem with the run flats on 20" wheels and the continue to use them? Sorry for assuming MBUSA did the right thing, the bunch of deceptive cowards!

That was my argument. It clearly stated "performance tires" were on the 20s, while "Runflats" were on 19s.

False advertising - and I told the rep at MBUSA that wouldn't fly. I wasn't being an *** - but I also wasn't going to accept a poor ride - or weekly trips to the dealer or bubbled tire replacements.

Really on the fence about this. I would appreciate some feedback.

Quote: Am I changing out the S550 grill for the S600 grill?

Not sure about this one.

It is a very subtle differentiator between models. More exclusive of course, but more different than better.

But in the end, if you like it better, just get it. It will look very elegant with the Mocha Brown. Will your grill slates be painted Mocha Black as well?

I used to love how our Designo had the grill painted in Mocha Brown. Looked beautiful between the chrome trim.

V12 grille all the way. If I had a non V12 S I'd put the V12 grille on there.

Interesting that when you called it a V12 grill I thought that I didn't want to be dishonest with making this change.

On one hand, the grill does not say V12, and my car will have the S550 emblems but, on the other side of that argument, this grill is actually only on the S600 and S65.

I would only do it for cosmetic reasons and never do it if I thought people would look at it as not being honest.

Maybe not such a good idea for this reason?

You have a highly customized car. As such, this would simply be another customization.

After all, you are not labeling it a 600

I think the S550 grille looks classier.

I'm all for upgrading the look of your ride with parts from a higher model but I draw the line with "fake" badging. I think those other parts look nicer and IMO nothing wrong with that. Your grille didn't turn your S550 into an S600. heh

IMHO I don't think a grill off a V12 would cross over into any poser territory..after all, it's not an AMG...and it looks amazingly beautiful as well.......

V12's grill all the way , the S550 is AMG version may be it may look classier if you mainly focus on the bumper cover and the grill ,the S600 is standard version non AMG therefore bumper cover looks less exciting in comparison with the car at the top

I did this on the German website so we could see the V12 grille on a car with AMG styling and the 20" wheel. Looks good!

My dealer has a S65 coming in about 45 days and I will make my final choice when I see it in person.

Difficult to tell with pictures. I hope it will be obvious in person.

Thanks for the all the feedback.

I thought hard on the S600. I would have gotten it if I didn't have to wait another year. In fact, a lot of people who wanted the 14's early had to sacrifice.

BTW..... S600 grill all the way. Hands down.....

For those of you, (probably none ) who might also be thinking of changing out the front grill to a S600 grill, I have just been told that while they are totally interchangeable, there may be a problem with the night vision camera and how it is placed behind the grill.

The grill configuration of the S600 might interfere with the position of the night vision camera as it is placed on the S550.

I guess I am not totally sold yet. Looking to see the grill in person and then it will become obvious to me.

Right now, working on my production date and hoping to have one really soon.

Pleeeezzzzeeee.

I saw a V222 S600 while in South Korea last week. The grille looked quite nice in person! At first I thought it was just a regular 222 with V12 badges on the fender until I saw the grille- didn't realize they were already out over there.

I find it amazing how as grown men, we become so child like when it comes to our cars.

I've have been waiting patiently for my production date. I've been watching the Netstar codes but have been told customized cars do not follow normal codes. This makes it very difficult to know when my car is going to be produced.

Today, Germany updated my build sheet on Netstar with a special code:

055 Factory Tracking Code

I can't help but think this means my production date is right around the corner and this code is meant to track the special customized interior that I am having done.

Of course, I don't really know this for sure, but the little boy in me is sure this is the case and very happy today.

Let's see what happens.

I am sure you know the answer to that.

My SA has a Netstar application on his phone. How cool is that.
