On The Water
I just got notification that my S550 is on the water and is on a ship called Telex.
Does anyone know how to track this and what time frame I could expect delivery? (to NY)

You may have the wrong ship name. "Ship Telex" is printed on the Netstar printouts dealerships use. Who told you it was on the ship Telex? My Netstar printout had a code C20 Ship Telex in the events section and in the Shipment Section had an area for "Vessel" and the vessel or ship name after it. My ship happened to be "Don Juan".
You might want to check this again.
Great news that it is on the water. The anticipation is building!

This is the second time a dealer has given the ship name as "Telex". Are these guys such idiots that they don't know how to use their own system? Makes you wonder what else they don't know.

Wow, I am sorry you guys have such horrible experiences at your dealerships.
My dealer here in San Francisco, goes out of their way to help me out, get me the correct information on my car and always tries to do whatever is possible to give great customer service.
I wonder how these other dealerships can make it on such poor customer service.

I have to agree that my local dealer really goes above and beyond in service to their customers. That is not my experience at all. Surely there are salesman that will lie to their mothers to get a deal, but that is just not my experience with the local MB dealer (sales or service).
BTW, the ship Telex is very funny. The funny thing is we still use the word Telex when that technologies useful faded long ago. Presuming Telex in this context is referring generically to an electronic message.

About Dealers--Like any business transaction one needs to be savvy enough to know not to get taken advantage of. I have avoided dealerships in the past that just want a deal that is a win for them but not a win for me.
My local dealer is really awesome about customer service and provides extremely fair deals. My local dealer is Bobby Rahal Motorcar in Wexford, PA. I have purchased most of my MBs from them since 1997 although at times have purchased from other MB dealers throughout the country. Not all MB dealers are alike since I have dealt with other MB dealers besides Rahal and some are just crappy dealers. So if anyone is looking for a great dealer either Bobby Rahal in Wexford, PA or Mercedes Benz of Pittsburgh are awesome dealers. They are both owned by the Rahal Auto Group. I have no affiliation with these dealers except that my office is 1/4 mile from the Wexford, PA dealer.

Just found out that my car is NOT on that ship, but the ship that is coming into Baltimore 7/1....Bummer
