Skuff / Skid Plate - Removing Scratches

Is there an easy way to remove scratches to the skuff/skid plates on the doors (other than replacing them)? I noted that they're a satin finish so I don't think they can be polished out without making the whole thing shiny. Thanks.

From what i've seen on previous models, this is actually plastic with a finish coat. You can't really recreate it or polish it.

They are expensive to replace too.

Thanks for the info. The scratches are 'normal' wear and tear so I can learn live with it . I noticed that my previous S(221)' skiff plates were much more impervious to scratches.
