What is the status of your car? I heard today that some cars are already coming into the VPC's.

I assume they will be held until October.

My S63 coupe has a production date of 9/15. I have the VIN already. You are right in the they will probably be held until Oct. There are done at VPC already as I had a chance to get some that were on water at that time. I passed on them because they weren't specs I was looking for.

Am second on waitlist at an SF dealer for 65 Coupe (among various issues, 63's MCT is a non-starter for me: such needlessly jerky, fail-prone boxes have no upside, only massive downside in 600+lb-ft AMGs and AMG has been unable to solve the MCT debacle despite 5+yrs of trying)

Was told first three 65 Coupes being built for CA dealers are mid-Oct builds

Biggest disappointments are delayed builds/long waitlists and lack of graphite/platinum blk as poss color choices

But, if '14 SL65s are any indication (which I currently drive and will trade-in when 65 Coupe arrives), suspect S65 Coupe will be a phenomenally addictive driver's car esp on CA's more interesting fwys and mtn twisties, esp if properly spec'd (CCB, ext&int cf, perf stg wheel, blk wheels, blk air intakes/flics, etc etc)

Question

I'm still on the fence regarding 65 vs 63.
MCT "issues" don't bother me a bit, no problems for me in previous S63 or current E63, occasional jerkiness far outweighed by other attributes of that tranny, availability of mods favoring greatly the V8.
Also, the 4WD in Chicago is an immensely important factor too but am still tempted by greater comfort, much better ride and smoothness of V12.
A bit disappointed with how little the S65 Coupe interior differs from the 63, can't really tell the difference at first glance.....

I was told around $15k higher base vs sedan (63), S65 less then $10k premium.

That sounds about right. There are few reports that has the price at $157K for base.
