My new S600
Hey there,
On another post I mentioned that I ordered myself a 2015 S600 and some showed interest in the process.
I ordered it end of July in obsidian black, interior black with walnut and it comes with all the bells and whistles the S600 has standard. I decided to not take the fridge (due to significant reduction of trunk space). And I didn't want to give up the 3rd rear seat for the folding table option.
After I ordered it I had to wait almost 2 weeks before Mercedes pulled the order for production. I was told that a dealer has to 'earn' a production slot of a S600. Therefor it took a while. In the meanwhile it is built (finished a few days ago) and is in Bremerhaven awaiting shipping to Brunswick.
I hope it is on one of the 2 car vessels leaving Bremerhaven tomorrow.
So if everything goes well, it should be in Brunswick end of September and hopefully a week later ready for pickup at the dealer ship. Can't wait.
Cheers,
Thomas

You will LOVE your new S600!!! I got mine about a month ago and the car amazes me every time I drive it. I still have my W221 S600 as well and what a difference! Got 20's on both and the 2015 is much smoother. Not sure if that's all because of MBC.
Post pics when you get it! I was torn between Obsidian Black, Diamond White, and Magnetite Black which I ended up picking.

Vessel should reach Halifax later today and then 5 more days to Brunswick. The 'closest look' I currently can get on my car is this picture - lol

I remember following my vessel each day and it took a turn and headed backwards and the circled back down, at least that is what the tracker showed. Can't imagine the vessel actually did that.
Point being, I bet there are a lot of vessel stalkers on this forum, myself included.
I hope to start stalking sometime in mid October.
Looking forward to seeing your machine!

In fact I'm ready to stalk as soon as I know which vessel my car is assigned. Should know that info any day now.
I tracked my 14 S550 also as it made it journey to Brunswick on Carnation Ace.
It would be interesting if I am assigned the same ship for the 15 S63

Glad I'm not alone out there: feel free to stalk with me: the Gracious Ace is about 190NM from Brunswick. Arrival tonight. Then I hope the VPC processes it fast :-)

'12 S350 ('15 S550 on order)
How does one track where a ship is on the water? My 2015 S550 was shipped and left Bremerhaven on 9/17 on the WWL ship Freedom. ETA to port in Baltimore is 9/30. I would love to track its progress across the Atlantic

Since Freedom is a WWL ship you can also use this link to track your car via putting your vin number in the Cargo ID area. See Below.
I am also a ship stalker so I understand. I remember the feeling of following the ship with my '14 S550 4matic. Post Pics when the beauty arrives!

@m3422c: Sorry I'm late to help here, but you got your answers on tracking already.
My car was not on a WWL ship , so I had the dealer telling me the ships name.
Have in mind, that for the time it is in the middle of the Atlantic (in my case from south of Ireland to one hour short of Halifax), there is no tracking available on the marinetraffic site (it shows 'out of range'). If you'd have a paid subscription, then you could still get some geo coordinates. If you sign up for free, then you can export up to five positions and then translate them to googlemaps suitable longitude/latitude information and then check the position of the vessel (use your 5 exports wisely :-) ). But also those positions are sometimes hours old.
My car arrived in Brunswick last night and is now at the VPC! Vessel stalking over!

Finally today is the day: pickup later this afternoon. That means the car is delivered about 2 weeks faster than anticipated.
For those who are waiting as well, a short timeline wrap up: after the vessel hit Brunswick and unloaded the car, the car was released from the VPC to the trucking company within 24 hours. And within another 48 hours the car arrived at the South Florida dealership. They got their hands on it right away, to get it ready for pickup in less than 24 hours. So overall: from vessel unloading to pickup at dealer ship it took about 4 days. Pretty good I'd say.
