Infrared Glass vs. Radar Detectors

Which regions of the W222 windshield are NOT infrared glass?

We need to hardwire a Valentine One radar detector and mount a toll road transponder.

Ideas?

I tested my radar detector 2 weeks ago and it worked like a charm. There are 2 regions:

1. Adjacent to the rear mirror; on the passenger side; and
2. On the bottom of the front dash, dead-center.

Note: I disabled K-band because of interference with Distronic Plus.

Drive safe.

I've used a V1 for several years, tried the area on the pass side of the RVM. Not a real big area but did seem to work somewhat. What I didn't like was the rear sensor seemed useless because of the rear glass. It did not do the usual front to side to rear arrows like normal. I went ahead and had a STiR-Plus installed, still getting used to not having the rear arrows, but the KA performance is much better due to segmenting the bands.

Also on the EZPass, I have the plastic bar that's used on the top of the front license plate installed behind my front grill. Works like a charm! I will never put a front plate on my vehicles and have never been pulled over for it.

my hardwired V1 is directly to the left of the rear view; works very well: good luck!

For those of you that say it works well mounted next to the RVM .. are you getting rear reception?

I have mine on the pass side and the rear detection is minimal. Where I used to see front-side-rear lights, I now see front and a flicker of side and rear. I would say the rear glass is interfering with the signal.
