Smile Impressions from a New Owner

I only have about 1,500 miles on my car, but here are my initial likes:
  • The sound system is awesome. I have the upgraded unit.
  • Distronic Plus works quite well.
  • Smooth ride. I have Magic Body Control.
  • Air-balance. I usually don't like perfume, but the Freeside Mood scent is relaxing and inoffensive.
  • Comfort. I am enjoying the drive to work. The seats, although difficut to set, are superb.

My dislikes include:
  • Command System. I find it very complicated, and don't like using it for adjusting lumbar or starting a massage.
  • Gas Mileage. I wish the S had cylinder deactivation on the highway like the Audi.
  • Owner's Manual. I don't think the manual is very comprehensive. I don't like having to consult the information in the Command system.

These are the items that come to mind readily. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are quite similar to yours: However::
Plus side:[*] the V12 is simply marvelous, powerful, sublime, quite[*] I'm getting 24 MPG on the highway and almost 20 in commuting traffic
Minus Side:[*] the menu system reminds me why I dislike MicroSoft so much. Every new MS release has all the useful commands hiding in different knocks and crannies than the previous releases.

nice Ormand, nice to hear another happy customer, I also get sick of the command.....one thing about the massage is there is a short cut on the phone pad: press the star to activate the secondary functions and #8 should be the massage.....also ask your dealer to buy you a users manual, I got one, although it took a few months
good point about the cylinder thing; I think my wife's new Pilot even does that! there must be some sort of good reason though....
agreed about the Buttmeister, I hate using any stereo after hearing the one in my S

now....go drive!

Question I thought of one more pet peeve

In my Audi, I could display the odometer and the speedometer at the same time.

Can you do this in the S550?

Comand is terrible on every MB but the same can be said about iDrive and Audi's MMS.

Carmakers just can't get it right. That why I am anxiously waiting for apple's CarPlay interface. That'll be the best $700 spent

Just leave the odometer on in the DIC. The speedo will be to the left.

I am looking forward to throwing out my thoughts someday when I buy my W222 .Well, besides that let me have my to 0.02 cents on your dislike regarding owners manual . Yes, most owners manual are very complicated and you can learn better by using a method called practice .
