Am about to place an order on a S550 Coupe - currently have it selected as Anthracite Blue but am doubting if that is the best color - what are your thoughts on Magnetite (only avail on S63!), Anthracite and Palladium?

Palladium is sweet, but you'll see a significant color tone difference between painted plastic and metal ...

 

What about the designo diamond white? Or the Mocha black ? Both are attractive colours.

I suggest for you getting every option trust me you will regret not getting any option even if you are not going to use it you will regret it and you may like it later because you are not buying a cheap thing or something that you will change easily like a phone.

 

I went with Anthracite Blue as I was convinced it was the perfect color for the S550 sedan without getting a designo.

However I have seen S coupes in both colors, and the Palladium is really something special on the coupe. It is a great color in the flesh, changes colors depending on the lighting. It could be a bright silver, or a dark grey etc.

 

how about brown? or green?

 

I like the Dismond White, Mocha and Anthracite exterior color options.

I got Anthracite Blue. Looks great, especially with the porcelain Designo interior.

 

Don't have a coupe, but definitely love my Anthracite!

I've got to correct myself, proving what a newbie I am with this car. I just looked at my build sheet and I actually have lunar Blue as well. :confused

 

When asked, I always refer to my interior as saddle brown. Sounds so much better than "Nut" brown...

 

^I really like the brown, I just hate how they make you take the black with it too

 

If you are getting Lunar (Cavasite) Blue, I would go with the designo Deep Sea Blue/Silk Beige interior...

no, fellas. you're confusing saddle brown and nut brown; they are very different. saddle is like the old palomino colour (orangey-brown) and nut brown is like milk chocolate. saddle is available only on the coupe. it is very rich-looking against the lunar blue. yummy.

Interesting, have not seen that color leather then. Sounds like it would suit a BMW more though... Nut brown is nice but I would love it if it actually looked in real life as it does on the configurator...

Just an FYI, because I looked at this as a color option as well... When you go to the mbusa site and build an S550 coupe, here's the choice you get for what they call "Designo Saddle Brown"...

MB really has to improve the acurracy of their configurator.
