Ceramic Coating vs Synthetic Sealant for a New S class?
I'm ordering a new S Class and was wondering what you all would recommend as far as either going with a long term ceramic coating ( I've been told these will last for 4 or 5 years ) vs something like a good synthetic sealant applied every six months? I've heard that ceramic is great for ease of washing and drying as it creates a slippery surface that allows dust and grass clippings etc. to slide right off. But I've heard that it makes any potential paint corrections very difficult as well.
I was wondering if anyone has had this done and can tell me what your long term experiences have been? Does it hold up as well and as long as claimed, does it protect the car from scratches or rock chips? Also, how does it fair at protecting against water spotting issues?
Thanks!
Maybe OptiCoat is a type of ceramic coating, I am not sure.

My experience has been great. The paint looks very shiny and it is easier to clean. For extra protection I have a layer of spray wax on top.

It takes a few hours, especially for the W222, but the results are worth it. Just make sure you don't park it outside for 8-12 hours to avoid contaminating the coating while it's curing, and you should be good to go after that.
I tried using Opti-Coat, but got some streaking, while 22PLE is super easy to use and lasted the entire lease period on my SLK with periodic quick waxing/sealing. If you decide to use it, can't wait to see results! Here are quick pics I took just now! I applied it to my S550 back in July and the C300 last night.
