I was at my dealer the other day leaving my ml off for service and got a 2015 c class, not complaining. The guy infront of me dropped of his nicely loaded cla and gets a gl450. I mean wtf a cla to a gl. You can buy 3 clas for a fully loaded gl450

Lol. It's really just what the have avail at the time. If you call in a week early, my dealer lets me pick what I want, but that changes the schedule and day you drop off. Point being, If you are flexible with your schedule you could get another vehicle that may be more to your liking.

The deal with Audi is simple. They make it part of the purchase experience of the A8. They are disingenuous though. Part of our contract to buy the A8L from 2012 was that whenever we needed service, we would get an A8L loaner.
First couple times - that's how it went. Then it was "we don't have any instock, want an A6 or Q5? and we said sure of course. We didn't play the "we got it in writing" game because we don't really care.
Then they dropped a bomb on us. Told us anyone with state farm insurance is now automatically prohibited from any loaner of any class from Audi. (even though we have a contract that states to the contrary).
Apparently some bloke crashed an A8 loaner - and state farm refused to pay. We could have fought them for breach of contract - but what would that have gotten us? Nothing.
We got rid of the Audi - and ordered a Range Rover. In the end - they lost a customer of their higher end class of car - and they lost our referral possibilities for new customers.
Was it worth it for them? I have no idea - but I would imagine not.
If Mercedes puts in writing they will give you an S Class for an S Class buyer - and they renege - I don't think it's snooty to be upset about it. A contract is a contract - and you make a purchase - you expect both parties to honor it.

This has been my issue with the dealer for a long time. I bring in my fully loaded S 63 - $180+ MSRP and drive away in a C class 99% of the time. Few times they have offered a rental car from Enterprise which I refused.

I don't have an S but I plan to get one in the next year but, when I bring in my ml I expect a ml in return. I know my dealer has them but they just won't give it to me. My dealer gives those with an S a C or E(If you are lucky)
