Has anyone found a good solution to mounting a phone in a W222?

A) Turn Bluetooth on in the phone,
B) leave phone in your pocket,
C) introduce the phone to the car through the Command system,
D) use the phone via the buttons on the steering wheel.

There are multiple usb ports in the glove compartment along with a nearby elastic strap suitable for "mounting" most current size smartphones.

If you haven't already noticed, you definitely DO NOT want to charge your phone on this. Left my phone charging in there for 2 hours and didn't even charge 10 percent. It may have been a faulty cable, but when using the cigarette lighter socket, was much faster/better.

I DO NOT at all have the problem you are having. My iPhone charges perfectly/normally on the USB port. As an example, if my iPhone has only 20% battery life left, it will fully charge in less than an hour on the USB port.

I'll try it again tomorrow evening but I'm sure that it isn't the wire. When the wire is connected to the Samsung USB Wall Adapter it charges much faster. Also tried the same thing with my iPad and came out with similar results. I guess I have to arrange a visit to the local dealership.

I also would like to find a proper mount.

I checked out the quadlock site, looks like a nice product. Would you mind posting pics of it while it's mounted in the car? Thanks

Why not plug the wall charger into the 120AC plug and charge it from there?

I have a question about "D":

Can you somehow remotely activate (press) the "home" button of the iPhone from the steering wheel? (when you physically press the iPhone home button, you activate Siri through the Bluetooth audio system of the S550 - this is nice for using Siri to send a text message or make a phone call, and it's superior to the Mercedes voice commands) I would like to be able to do this, but so far I don't see a way to do it.

I am left wondering if I am missing something with that on my iPhone 6.

There may be an alternative but I haven't tried it yet. As long as your phone is being charged, you can turn on the "hands free" feature to activate Siri by saying a wake up phase like "Hey, Siri". There is a setting in your iPhone to do so.

Yes, "Hey Siri" is a nice feature when the iPhone is connected to power.

My goal would be to activate Siri on the iPhone without touching the iPhone directly.

It is legally fine to touch controls on the car, but it might not be legal (or convenient or safe) to touch the home button of an iPhone.

What is needed is a remote wireless small sized push button device that can be installed and located semi-permanently somewhere unobtrusively near the center console. I might make one, and I see that there are a couple of other makers selling something similar to what I want, but they have their own inadequacies like battery life, or time to pair and re-pair to the iPhone.

I am not sure how many people even would care or understand such a "product", but to me it is very important.

If "Hey Siri" worked with my phone in my pocket while seated in the car, that would be great, but the need to plug the iPhone into USB power is an inconvenience that I'd like to avoid. It needs to work on the fly, in and out of the car in a typical city driving scenario.

Much easier if I can just push a button on the steering wheel or center console and say "Tell Bob "I am on the way ETA 10 minutes" and it sends a text out based on voice to text - very nice - iPhone does that so nicely right now - We just need to bridge the step of activating the home button.

Do you guys think you'd pay $49.99 for a magical button like this? Dimensions 1 inch round and half inch thick, 6 months disposable battery, double sided tape or velcro install?
