All dealers close to me (NYC) wanted much more - from 8K "near cost" to 12K - even after I showed them how I could get them for 6K. Parts gotta eat, too, I suppose.

Lol. I guess they do. But tell them so do we.

I think those are the best wheels for the S AMG cars, but (as I'm sure you know) MB only offers the style on the 65. I'm curious because I expect I'll be doing the same song and dance routine when they open the MY 2016 order bank and I try to order an S63 directly with those wheels.

Is there a way to REMOVE the black plastic lug nut cover and put in a flat mercedes star center cap???

Yes, those are my wheels

AFAIK, you can't replace the centers - it is shaped differently and the star actually turns to lock the cap into place
