You silly guys,
following the thread closely and watching the opinions, as MB is definitely not a ruler of anything. Take Jaguar for example...

Are you saying to look at an XJ as an S replacement? That would be a dead end for me. You can only get AWD with the V6, beyond horrendous user interface and an aging body. Add in terrible reliability and I wouldn't take one for half the cost....

Oh no, I was referring to F-TYPE R. I loved the car and was very impressed with it at Monticello grounds last year.
And it has an option of AWD which we both recognize how important it is to have.

Overall, the coupe (if possible) is always the way to go, especially if wives have SUVs...

Not for me. I prefer 4 door cars and with substantially more emphasis on luxury. I can't remember the last time I floored a car living on LI- can't wait to get off this island someday.

My coworker has the R. Loves the power/ handling. Hates everything else on the car....

Would you ask your coworker to emphasize on the subject? Very curious on ones driven experience.

Rides rough. Diabolically horrible nav/ent system. Broke down twice on the side of the road. Many ship visits for non catastrophic problems etc....
