Selenite Grey vs Palladium Silver Side by Side Comparison
So Palladium Silver is being replaced by Selenite Grey in 2016 model year.
I took pictures of Selenite Grey against Palladium Silver side by side in outdoor & indoor lighting.
None of my local dealers have the Selenite paint samples (they didn't even know it was coming), so I'm out of luck trying to do a direct compare to Tenorite / Steel Gray. Thx for your pics - they are the best info I've gotten!
I like it - thx for the pics.
Now have to decide if a wagon with black wheels will look better in Selenite (which is dark) or Steel Gray / Tenorite (which appears a little darker).

Like so many things that so many of us have loved about MB, I believe that as I write this, Palladium Silver is history. In so many ways, MB continues to dilute the brand, by taking away customer choices, but hey, that's just me.

How replacing one tone of silver with another similar one is diluting the brand is beyond me.
I suppose that when MB introduced power windows in their cars also meant taking away customer choices

Hey Streamliner...great pictures, great setting. Weather has finally cleared on the right coast and the Palladium silver S is detailed to within an inch of it's life. Of course you get to experience that year round. Your car looks terrific.
I agree that many of the changes that MB makes could be done differently. Run flats without a spare are are two examples of change for the worse. I personally believe that a lot of these changes occur due to regulatory requirements in different parts of the world as well as the sign of the times (fuel efficiency and resulting taxation), technology improvements are designing cars for a global market, rather than having US vs. Euro vs. Asian models.
That said your cars color along with the non-sport package and 18" wheels looks great! The W222 is a beautiful and elegant car and the more I look at it the more it stands out from the W221. Congratulations on on your beautiful home...
Just went to place an order for a s550 and was told it would not be orderable until October 1st? Is that right? My other lease is ending December 5, 2015. If I do a SO for a 2016 today and wait till the grey is in production, would I get it back by early December?
I loved the palladium silver. Such a nice warm grey. But everyone is right, you can't order it for 2016. ARGH.
nice picture, thanx for sharing this.....a good shot in full sun, very considerate to post these...........funny how they have so many shades, they all look nice too, hard to say which one I like

Fifty shades of gray, and not a pretty green, red, yellow, brown or even a crisp, solid white to choose from, only shades of gray & black. How disappointing. I was looking at the Rolls-Royce web site the other day and the choice of colors is just wonderful. Why MB can't offer their S Class & SL buyers way more choices than they do is just beyond me. Tag on a $5K up charge if they must, but get us out of the same old shades of BORING!
one good thing is it helps to simplify the choice.....imagine a huge selection to choose from, as Streamliner said, like on a Rolls or a Bentley........seems like it could become overwhelming, tedious.....even annoying lol........
I don't disagree MB could offer some other exciting colors at an extra cost though......
seems like a no brainer for making more money on options, but more of a headache logistically? paints and what not.........hmmmmm
