No Hands Steering Assist Distronic?
I was driving on the freeway yesterday and had the Steering Assist Distronic set at 70mph and it didn't make me nudge the steering wheel for the whole 15 min drive (Green steering wheel light stayed on)... I tried to document everything at the time to recreate but I couldn't do it.. has anyone experienced anything similar?

Have you taken a look at the video of the guy using a strap and a beer can to "hack" the Driver's assist features?

I would be a bit chicken to try this on a populated freeway, but that feature and other improvements are one of the reasons down the road, I may trade-in my W221 for a W222. I like the self-driving capability. I would imagine it would be fantastic in stop and go traffic.

Reminds me of the recent Infinity Q50 Active Lane Control review I saw where the driver reviewing the car changes seats. Watch the beginning and then fast forward to 1:15. Yup, no hands on the steering wheel and no driver on the driver's seat.

I took a 200 mile trip last weekend with straight roads and a 75mph limit. I love the self driving but the longest I could go without hands on the wheel was about 10-15 seconds.

Hi everyone. I'm trying to get some info about the non-hands distronic and was wondering if someone could help explain how it works. I saw a video where the car was going around turns and roundabouts, and not just driving on a street. Can you just set a location in the gps and it will take you there once you activate it?

I've seen that video too, and since it was created a few years ago, I guess there is some law which means that cars can't completely self drive. To activate it, you use a stalk on the left side of the steering wheel, and then you can set how far away you are from the car in front. You can't set a location yet, but I'm expecting it soon.

Are you referring to this car:

This car was legally driving on German streets but as a multimillion dollar Mercedes future technology R&D vehicle, it had a one time permission.
Have a look at the clock, better to wait a bit until the normal clock design comes back.
