Question Heated Windshield Lines

I was recently (Aug 24th, 2015 2:12pm EST) , shown a 550 coupe with a heated windshield and I noticed the heating elements were rather visible and appeared throughout the glass. I live in S FL and don't need this option but may be able to get a healthy deal on this particular car. For those that with this option, have the element lines become something you wish were not there?
Thanks

I assume you are talking about the front windshield.

I find this rather interesting because I have the heated front windshield, and do not have any lines. I was told on the S class for 2015, that they were introducing a new technology for heating the front windshield, and that the new technology did not have any lines.

Surely enough, such was the case. Given the S coupes were a 2015 model year, I am surprised they did not use this technology in that car. Maybe the only explanation is that my car is a 2015-2 model year car, and maybe it was introduced just in the second half.

What is the production date of this car?

We drove two and in the evening, a sedan and a coupe, one was 4/15 production and the other 2/15 that had the heated windshield; from what I remember we saw faint grayish Z type vertical lines embedded in the glass perhaps when the street lights or oncoming headlights hit the windshield and we did not care for this feature because of this.

My 2016 S550 4matic Sedan has no lines and is unnoticeable day or night. See attached--only lines are in the Infra Red Passthrough areas.

We did not notice the lines until we drove it in the evening where certain street lights or oncoming headlights made the elements visible. Car was a '15.
