Valentine V1 Where to mount

Just traded up to a 2015 S 550. Had it mounted just left of the rear view mirror on the 2012 and it worked great. Has anyone found a good place on the 2015?

Mine is in the center opening just above the dash as pictured.

Mine is in the lower center designated space of the windshield.

This almost looks too high for the center cutout. I tried but couldn't fit a Passport Max there (also due to the bracket design)

Position wouldn't work in an S-class that way (neither left or right)

IR coating is super annoying. Blocks radar detectors and gps unless placed at the 2 coating cutouts. They are small and not in the best places. Center bottom and to the right of the camera housing and passenger visor.

Afaik, the coating is all around so the directional finctionality of the V1 should be impacted.

I also don't get gps signal (or very rarely) on the Blackvue dashcam.

Grill mounted BEL STiR+ or Passport 9500ci (which from Mid City Engineering integrates nicely with the dash screen) may be a better option

It's not too high, it's exactly in the center of the cut out. It may seem so from the camera position. I've also had the suction cups give way in freezing weather and drop onto the console of one of my SL's when I've mounted it next to my rear view mirror, potentially causing cosmetic damage to the vehicle. I prefer mounting in this lower and easily reachable location and have my EZ Pass mounted in the cutout on the passenger side of the review mirror.

I have my valentine clipped to my passenger front sun visor. It works great. I wish I didn't have to open that drawer in the center console to plug it in for power though.

I have a Valentine 1 mounted just below my rear view mirror, but prefer Waze. Waze alerts much earlier than the Valentine.

What unit Blackview do you have and where is it mounted?
