Finally Made a Decision and Purchase
After much testing and thought we finally decided and bought a new car. The vehicle was just produced and is awaiting a vessel...now that it's purchased it was changed to priority 1.
Here's what we are getting:
2016 S550C4/Coupe
040 Black
977 Designo Black/Bengal Red Exclusive Napa (this includes a special black Dinamica headliner, quilted diamond pattern on seats, designo mats etc.)
729 Black Poplar Wood
P01 Prem1
321 AMG Sport Pkg
769 AMG 20" Wheels
997 Driver Asst
and a few other goodies.
Does anyone know what code 098 is for, as it says "Price Not on File" on our Net Star print out? Hope it's not some unwanted or tacky option.
The sedan is a sweet car but the new coupe just fit our personalities a bit better.
There are quite a few differences between the two cars that I was not aware of i.e. the coupe's seats are exclusive to it, as is the exhaust which sounds great and we love the beefy D shaped perforated all leather steering wheel.
I don't know how I'm going to last the 3-4 weeks it will take to get here.
Here's the closest pics of blk/Bengal I could find (the interior shot has the wood/leather wheel vs. the all leather perforated one we are getting).

Thanks for the good wishes and pics.
How did you get pics to post the way you have vs. the thumbnails I get when managing attachments?
We are having a tough time getting an answer for the 098 and the few MB folks we spoke with said 098 can also say "Factory Code" or "Price Not On File". I seem to remember when you spec'd out your car the net star print out had a few line items with the same "Price not on file message"... did you ever find out what it meant...perhaps it's an internal factory code? Just hoping its not some port or dealer installed option we don't want or need.

The factory codes that are internal for routing purposes disappear after the car is built, so if you found the 098 after the car is built, it is something more than just a routing code for production purposes.
I am doing some checking to see if I can find out.

I looked at my build and I did have a few factory codes but none were 098. I looked at the Netstar build codes and there is no 098.

very nice, the coupe has grown on me a lot, not that I'll buy one any time soon being the family man I am
098 is probably a 'charge you more for something' code, seems odd no one can tell you at the dealer.........or is it
enjoy your new toy

They told me as of this a.m. its an internal factory code but they don't know, or perhaps won't disclose what it's for.
Now the wait begins...wish I could go on vacation for the next 30 days to help the time pass quicker.
