Need help deciding...

Hi all, I need your collective opinion on which sheep skin rug color works best. I am tossed up between dark rugs (navy or slate) to match the Deep Sea Blue seats OR light rugs to match the Silk Beige carpeting. Thanks in advance for your constructive opinions.

I know you are asking for constructive opinions, so I will the darkest blue. It will be subject to fading but will be closest to your interior design.

That said, WHY in the world would you do that to your car??

To keep in perfect for the next owner?
To hide the fact that you have a Designo interior?
You don't like nappa?

Just kidding of course, but I would enjoy the interior of the car as-is.

I had lambswool rugs in my old Jaguar...and boy, was it nice riding with your shoes off in that deep pile of wool ****! The Mercedes-Maybach uses beige lambswool rugs irrespective of interior color.

My bad! I was thinking sheepskin covers for the seats! NM

Sheepskin rugs are cool even though a bit unusual for high-tech cars. A friend of ours in the UK had ordered some for his MB that came form the same company that made them for Rolls Royce.

They were great yet not the best for Manchester UK weather...

I really like the darkest blue with that interior. Will also be easier to keep clean than the lighter colors. Where are you getting them from? are they custom cut/fitted for the S-Class? How much are they?

Hi m3,
Yes, these are custom 2" thick carpets, which are backed with nylon mesh-like material. I am getting them from Superlamb Auto. They did the rugs on my Jaguar Sovereign Series III way back when. http://www.superlambauto.com/tailorm...loor-mats.aspx I plan to order only the rear rugs. I attached a photo of the ones in the Mercedes-Maybach and the ones on my Jaguar.

I am leaning towards the darker options--navy or slate. However, Navy is too blue and Slate too grey.

Best for riding barefoot! Haha. Yes, I plan to remove them when raining or snowing, and replace them with the rubber mats.

Boy, this is a great problem to have isn't it . These look great, and as the OP stated earlier I would love to sink my feet into a set of these after the gym or a long day or on a long trip!

My Jag has a truffle (dark brown) colored portfolio package with ivory stitching and the floor mats are piped in ivory leather...I bought a few set of very thin clear plastic mats that I can easily cover the carpeted mats for inclement weather conditions etc.

Good luck with your build

Thanks RJC. I noticed that my designo mats are piped with leather trim. I figured that the sheepskin rugs would be great in the summer when flip flops are my footwear of choice. I currently am using MB rubber mats over the designo mats.
