So MBRACE is CDMA? Strange choice from an international auto maker... Why not go with a GSM/HSPA combo module?

Meh. Just playing devils advocate here. My Ford Mobile (for their electric cars) works well and is NA wide (and is GSM/HSPA).

Sounds like the same issue that affected Onstar this year. Looks like the CDMA network was shut down.

My Mbrace internet service didnt work good here in USA either. Cancelled it.. 35kbs when it worked at all. I had faster dial up internet years ago. Not even3G.. Its a Joke.
