S Class Factory Rear Entertainment Question

Say you want to stream a video from your phone to your rear tv screens.

How does one go about doing this?

Any thoughts?

I don't think you can. I have an S class but not with the rear entertainment option, there might be some aftermarket options but I personally would not modify the command system in car.

The S-Class is prehistoric when it comes to AV connectivity. No HD, no streaming, nothing digital on the video side, only analog.

The BMW 7 series can stream Netflix and has HDMI inputs which enables a whole host of video input options.

On the MB, it's best not to have any the rear entertainment option but to simply get the MB iPad seat mounts, a couple of iPads, an Apple TV (or similar) and then decide if audio goes into the Burmeister or some Bluetooth headsets.

Those cost a fraction of the rear entertainment option and delivers 10 times the (entertainment) value...

Raspberry PI as Airplay receiver

I would build a Raspberry Pi 3 with KODI rig. It has also a composit video output (output format can be customised to almost any video standard), so it can be a solution. Nevertheless agree, this DIY stuff is not for MB class...

I just bought a Google Chromecast. It's powered through a 5v USB, so it can be stored in the armrest. The only problem is that it's only HDMI so I also had to buy an external HDMI2AV converter (also powered via USB 5V). They should both be stored in the armrest.
With Chromecast I can also stream from Netflix, but I don't know if the slow wifi module of the car allows to watch the contents...
Unfortunately my car now is at the dealer's so I can't try the whole system. Other news when I'll have the car in my hands.
