Removing Split View

I just purchased an S550 that was configured just the way I want it - but it has the Split View feature which I know I will never use. I really don't like the lower resolution screen and would much prefer the standard, higher res center display from the normal car.

Can I just purchase the LCD panel by itself and swap it out? Does anyone have a part number for that screen? It looks like it's a single module that includes both displays and some buttons, do I have to replace that entire piece or can I just swap out the LCD inside there?

There is barely a difference....Spiltview has more features than you think. Most people here did not order due to that same concern although this was based on how poor the resolution was on the w211 with spiltview. Honestly I felt the same way, but after I discovered the many features it is actually awesome, not to mention very rare option.

Okay makes sense, do you know if anyone has successfully retrofitted a 2018+ facelift dual screen panel onto the prefacelifts? I hate the plastic bezel around the two screens.

Probably not possible or even worth the cost.

If we had a view of the schematics and if they used a universal connector; I'd bet money it would be possible.

It solely depends on if the display has any computing element embedded to it or is simply just a computer 'monitor'. If it's the latter, it's no different than just changing out the panel..
