Mounting location dashcam

That's what we have with the Blackvue, but only on the S-Class...

Hard to explain, it will make sense once you try it yourself but the mount is off centered and optimal for driver side mounting
Upside down makes it optimal for passenger side mounting ie easier access to plugs/card/wifi button, can be tucked as close to center line as possible, etc
I have both my EZpass and Blackvue in that IR cutout area, works for me since I prefer not being able to see them while driving

One other tip.
My first mount had poor resolution videos. I had to change mounting locations.
If you look in a darkened location with a flashlight. You will see a really fine screen imbedded in the windshield just to the right of the mirror. About 5 in square. Purpose unknown. Mine is an early 2014 so can't say about other cars.
I moved it further right to in front of passenger visor. OK there. (except for reflections, white interior does not help)

Where did you connect power?
Thanks

Not ideal, but the radar detector has priority for me. At the same time I don't want to get into an installed radar detector/laser jammer, etc.
You could go higher but I want both EZ pass and dashcam to get GPS so I'm limited by the IR cutout
My buddy who could care less about GPS has his up tight
Another tip - use the same EZpass style velcro - not the sticky stuff from Blackvue - to mount it since at least I find myself taking it down a lot
Where did you wire for power from? I'm trying to find a switched 12V to connect my dash cam too. I was trying to use the fuse box on the passenger side - but they all seem to be hot all the time.
Thank you,
Alex

What is the IR Cut Out? Can I mount the camera in this?
Haven't got the car yet, so, can't look to see what you mean.
