Hey guys,

After a long search for new S550e's with options I want, I have realized that it is no use waiting any longer and just to buy a V8 model. And I'm not going to special order either. Just wondering, if I buy a non CPO S550, and the factory warranty is going to expire soon, can I buy an extended warranty from MBZ? or will I have to go third party? After test driving a w222 S550 with Magic body control, I have decided to no longer continue my 20 year relationship with Lexus. I have driven many thousands of miles in a Lexus out of warranty with no problems what so ever. But I am scared for what has to come in a German car. What major issues have you guys seen with your S550's? And what third party warranty providers do you recommend?

Thanks,
T

I have 2014 S550 I bought CPO with 46000 miles on it and now have 63000. With exception of tire issues, no.issues (knock.on wood). Recommend buying a.c. p o.car and getting extended warranty from mbz for about 3500 with coverage for 7 years from in service date,no mileage limit.

Can I not buy an extended warranty from Mercedes Benz even if the car is still under the factory warranty and is about to end soon?

I have a 2015 S550 with about 20,0000 miles. A few small electrical problems, but that's been it. Smooth sailing, no major problems.

Enjoy !

As long as the original factory warranty is still in force and the car has been properly maintained, you can purchase a Mercedes-Benz extended warranty, for I believe up to 7 years and 100,000 miles. Check with any MB dealer.

Also, the price of these warranties is negotiable. You might want to check sources on this website, as there are dealers out there who routinely offer much better deals on the extended warranties.

Good luck to you.

The dealer I bought my car from wanted over $5k for the warranty. He said it would just add 8 more payments...yeah, right!

Anyway, was quoted $3,500.00 to add the last 2 years after the CPO runs out from a gentleman who advertises on thisforum. I'll see how it goes as I don't really drive that many miles a year ( being retired ).

We added three years to my wife's E 350 cabriolet for about $2k through him. Simple process. Never even spoke to him. All done through emails and voicemail.

Good luck!

VARIATIONS ON EXTENDED WARRANTY TO 100,000.
.Found out variations
1.if you buy a CPO then you can get a 100,000 mile warranty from MBNA via dealer@a lower price than;
2.buying a MBNA warranty WHILE YOUR CAR IS STILL ON LEASE AND not exceeded 50,000 miles.

The reason the factory is willing to offer said warranty is that they have run the numbers and end up with a profit from doing so...........

Of course they do. It's buying an insurance policy.
