Svc B and a Nav update surprise

2015 S550
The Service rep said that its not a matter of being 3 years passing by, but rather that my 2015 S550 is an earlier production model (purchased in May 2014), so it doesn't have the option to upgrade the NAV system, since it is not popping up in their system. Has anyone heard of this?
"There is an update available this car version 3.1 I believe, and the latest version available is 10.1 that comes in a USB. The car doesn't have option code 502 since it's an early production car from 2014. And the free updates are for vehicles starting in 2015 and this one was produced in 2014 so it is not warranty."

Wow! What a bunch of BS!
Can't remember exactly the last vin numbers that production started for the model year 2015 but I just looked in the electronic parts catalog for a vin around FA069000. The vin I looked at was manufactured around 3/15/2014 (model year 2015) and it had code 502 with 3 year free update. I think you are getting bad info. If you PM me your vin number (if in the US) I can look and tell you for sure if yours come with 3 year free map updates.

MBUSA not dealer, members across many threads have commented about receiving correspondence from MBUSA specific to navigation update being available.

BTW: konigstiger thanks for the codes. It was helpful in getting my dealer to do the upgrade for free.

Thanks for the info! I have to check why that has never happened. I have received surveys, recall notices and other promotional items from them but never for any nav updates on any MB.

Have my 5th mercedes on order. Never have I received a message from MBUSA or anyone else a map upgrade was available. Always had to ask my service agent. My 8 yr old Ford Expedition? Get notices all the time for map updates.
