: MSRP announcement: MY18 S-Class Sedan & MY18 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Sedan
the new FL maybach s650 @198.7k is a bargain compared to the pre FL(191.3k) considering that it is getting a 100hp boost with the new s65 engine.

It costs more than twice as much as the S65.
But the Maybach S650 seems to be a bargain...
At this point the S650 will have the same engine specs as the S65 but with a more conventional tranny, exhaust, suspension and the engine not built by AMG.
That doesn't mean less but different. Interior will be better in the Maybach by virtue of it's rear cabin design and the leather features are the same.

Anyone who can drive (and for whom any of these cars is easily affordable) appreciates the brakes, steering, chassis set-up, engine/exhaust music of a 65 vs any other MB/AMG
Only other car I would get if S65 Coupe didn't exist is 911TurboS, which ironically has a smoother gearbox and sharper throttle response than 65 in routine urban driving
Yet, ironically, I prefer the 5000lb 65 Coupe over the TurboS in spirited mtn twisties driving....better balance of chassis precision/stability, engine/exhaust/gearbox theatrics of 65 in such driving, all vs an alleged 3600lb "sportscar" or whatever....placebo effects loom large with any >$100K car, as does nominal MSRP vs actual entertainment value realized from any of these discretionary toys
