2012 merc amg

I recently bought a 2018 E63 AMG and the Distronic has much less drifting between the lanes and is much more accurate than with my 2015 S550. Just wondering if it might be possible for the dealer to update the software for this system or are we pretty much stuck with what we got? It would be great if it's possible to get it working better in this 2015 I have.

Your spending time in the wrong place---drive to any MB dealer and have lunch with the service manager who will no doubt fill you in!

Probably they would not even know, lol. Thats the problem one service manager would tell you one thing and another one would tell you another thing. I'm sure they could update something like the software in the Distronic but there probably would be very little motivation to do it so you'd buy the next latest and greatest thing. Think I just answered my own question. Stuck with a car that makes it look like I'm drunk driving when on distronic hands free. lol. I'll call the Service guy I use in Sarasota and see what he says, have the feeling its a longshot.

I did just check with a very knowledgeable service manager at the dealer I bought the AMG through, he says on the new 2018 AMG there are many more sensors and the system is much more refined therefore the 2015 is obsolete in these terms and will never track lanes like the new car, which is ok, this is how it is with technology. Things change quickly, it's a 3 year difference. I'm sure the 2018 S class tracks even better and takes corners on hands free steering than my E class AMG. I believe on the 2018 S class cars the Distronic is GPS controlled which is even more Betterer, lol I guess this why people spend money on new cars. I can live with it in the 2015, it is not horrible bad, especially where lanes are more tight and clearly marked.
