actually just bought an S63 coupe in this color. I see posts about how its a nightmare to maintain, and others saying no problem at all. not sure what to think at this point. might have to end up wrapping the car, before something happens to the paint. But then again, i cant imagine Mercedes would continue offering these paint finish if it requires that much care. Most buyers are not "car enthusiast" who spends hours washing their cars.

Agreed. Careful hand washing is best, I always recommend the 2-bucket method, additionally a foam cannon more often works very well for cleaning. Using a matte finish PPF like Xpel Stealth is a really good option for protecting the high impact areas such as the front bumper fascia, mirrors, etc. You could really do the whole vehicle if you desire, but the front end can really benefit from this as most shops will not repaint the magno finish.

Yes I am... I've used AJ's in the past, however never with matte paints, so wouldn't be able to provide any feedback. They do great job, so i'm sure they know what to do with matte paint. By the way, I recently purchase the car, but haven't arrived yet lol. Probably another week or so. Any issues you've encounter so far? notice you pretty much have the same car.

Order selenite gray then have it wrapped in xpel stealth - much better outcome than ordering OEM matte paint for basically the same cost

The original owner wrapped Xpel on the entire front end at delivery and I’d have to say looks fabulous even after close to 3 years in-service. So far the car has been great. No issues at all. Wish you the best with your car. Enjoy it in good health.

Agree on the washing method. No issues after two years of hand washing,

Thank you and best wishes to you as well! Xpel sounds like a excellent idea. One thing i hate is washing cars, so this is definitely something i need to look into. Now i dont need to worry what type of soap they use at the car wash
