Rear Wiress Charging Pad
Hi Everyone ,
I am taking delivery of my 2018 s63 in 2 weeks ( away for work ) and I have the rear executive package with wireless charging. The dealer sent me a photo of the car since it’s in and the wireless charging pad really sticks out... is there anyway to close it or remove it? I asked the dealer but no reply yet.i have attached a photo of it
thanks

No way to move it or fold it. Ithe two worst things about. 1. Makes opening storage area below not as easy. 2. You can faintly hear it on when not listening to the radio.

I don’t mind the looks of it. It’s also a perfect angle for your phone when charging. However I agree the spot is atrocious and I can’t believe Mb couldn’t come up with a better location or solution. My worst complaint thou is the buzz or hum it always has. But again they are minor complaints and when I receive a notification on my phone the angle is perfect in the holder

Does it work for the iPhone?
I agree that it ruins the flow of the rear cabin
I will try to remove it if my build is not locked down. It was suppose to go red any day.

Works with iPhone including the 8 plus. However the front wireless charging pad if you have rear climate the pad is smaller and the 8plus doesn’t fit well.

I was able to delete mine from the build. I like the idea of a rear wireless pad but don't like it sticking out all the time. It would have been nice if it was stowed away. It disrupts a nice flowing rear cabin.

I can see the usefulness if the car was being used as an executive car to chauffeur people around or if someone has a personal driver. I would have liked it if Mercedes could have designed it better. It sticks out like a sore thumb in a otherwise amazing cabin.

They should be able to remove it and order the trim piece to cover the area. I don't have the usefulness either.
Thank you for posting about this otherwise I wouldn't have realized it doesn't store away.

Yes you can! I have the Rear Seat package ordered on my 18' S63 without the executive\center console option. It's package code 898 and its an extra $300.00 option. I saw a pic of it (it's on the flip down center arm rest), but can't find it anymore. I have asked my rep to send me a pic of it and when I get it, I'll post it.

After having the car for a week now I got use to the placement of the rear wireless charger and it’s actually more convenient then opening the center armrest constantly to take the phone out. The only complaint is the buzzing sound or transmitting type of sound. My dealer did contact Mercedes of North America to find out about removing it because they don’t want to touch it.

I like the idea of it and appreciate what Mercedes is doing but the placement of it ruins the flow of the cabin. Furthermore many have mentioned the noise which is totally unacceptable in an otherwise relatively quiet cabin.
