This is great news. Looks like I'm going to have a date with Paul at Movin' On Sound very soon. He installed a Mid City system in our GL63 a few months ago and it works beautifully.

Wow, 5 min from me, I know the whole team over at Movin' On. Bruce deals with the local stuff... Have been bringing my cars to them since the late 70's... The car alarm / radio business is all but dead these days. They always had a long waiting line when car alarms and radios were the bomb... They probably do 90% Vehicle / Asset tracking these days as well as Dash Cameras. Brings back memories...

The Smart Start app or the Drone app work with the system. It is endless range as long as there is cell coverage.

That is a very valid concern. However, the key that is sacrificed to the install is not active at all times. In fact, the battery is removed, and a battery-sized piece of circuitry is inserted in its place, which is wired-in with the starter. This way, the key is only powered-up to exchange codes with the vehicle when it receives the external remote start command, and remains powered-down at all other times. Hence, it is "invisible" to the vehicle and any would-be thieves when not in use. We couldn't possibly sell this product if there was a security risk such as the one you described.
