hi all, everlasting newb here. Just got my 2016 yesterday. Spent 3 hours playing inside today (still no registration, grrrr!)
my bmw had easy to assign buttons (10of them) - very gently touching would show favorite, pressing would activate, whether a phone call entry, navigation destination, or radio station. I know there’s. The favorite star on the controller, I can’t quite figure it out. I guess the factory defaults for favorites are basically navigation, radio, etc., but being the main menus of each. Can I assign favorites from that sta like phone numbers or radio stations or nav directions? I checke date manual again but can’t figure it out (yet). Thanks for any help!

Morning, Gary-who-knew-its-gnu,
Yea, I wish Comand had some quick buttons for favorites. It does have one on the touchpad of the W222 model, which brings up the Favorites screen. But then, its a matter of scrolling the list. (I have yet to find voice-activated access to individual items in the favorites and oddly, the manual states that both "12" and "20" favorites may be created.)
As for how to add, move, delete items, see page 41 in the MY2014 Comand manual. A searchable PDF version can be found under Manuals on the opening page at www.mbusa.com. Once downloaded and opened, press Ctrl+F to bring up the search box and enter "favorites". Favorites from the categories of Navi, Entertainment, Telephone, Vehicle and Climate Control may be created. My first two are for activating Seat Massage for driver and passenger seats.
Enjoy

Thanks, the manuals ate a bit sparse on the details. I plan to spend more time mucking around with it and will post any progress.
thanks again!
thanks again!
PROGRESS! first I used the I button in the car, customer support, after transferring me around, etc. said that the 2018’s let you drill down, but not the 2016’s. Well, that stunk.
yesterday I discovered if I go to the navigation entry or phone entry i want, and hold down the favorites button for a few seconds...voila! Worked as expected. So, I deleted some silky stock favorites (like the navigation ,radio, telephone) main menus, and put in specific destinations or phone cards as expected.
manual was not great about it...hope this helped someone...

Gary. There is a favorites button on the right side of the new steering wheel. While the 2017 and older w222 had a favorites button on the center controller, that is now gone and replaced with a "home" button. From the home button, you go down to access favorites, adding a step. But the steering wheel option on the 2018s is quicker. You already figured out how to add phone numbers and addresses and move them around. So to get to them quickly, use that steering wheel button.
EDIT: Just reread that you have a 2016, not 2018. Whoops. Advice above still works for anyone with a 2018....

many thanks - makes me want a new 2018 even more now (since i had my 2016 for a whole 2 weeks!) - i'll sell the car when there's a few months left on my extended warranty - i figure August 2022 - i'll then decide if i go for a 2022 (or 2023) S, E, CPO, or something else altogether - if i go for an S or E it would be 7 year newer tech than what i have now!
i could retrofit the newer head and tail lights - i figure that's about $5k or $6k all in - not worth it to me - steering wheel - not sure if that can be done or not - probably a few thousand - again, probably not worth it.

Now that is great news, Garygnu. Pressing & holding the Favorites button eases the addition of destinations and contacts into the Favorites menu. This worked on my MY2015 S-550. Slick. Very handy. Thanks for passing on the discovery.Originally Posted by garygnu
