mbrace issues
Picked up a 2015 CPO. Paid for the Mbrace through the end of the CPO warranty. Internet Radio, Hot spot, all I could get. I can not connect to anything. ?Have tried multiple times. Is it just crappy and not worth it?

Yep it is just crappy! Stuck with only 3G speed and limited connectivity. I have head that 2018 models have 4 G speed but not sure how much better it is. This was not the case in Europe I understand as they got 4G speed on all. I have complained to MB from the dealer to the region manager here in the US and they agree but can "do nothing" according to them.

Well good to know thanks. I will be cancelling in the morning and getting a refund. I had 2 Teslas before this and I can say the connectivity was outstanding for the most part. Best of all 2014 model s came with a 3G card that could be easily upgraded to 4G. Then it worked great.

I have been using MBrace since the end of 2013 on first my 2014 S550 4matic and for about 2.5 years on my 2016 S550 4matic.
Although the speed of the WiFi is very slow, I have used my TuneIn radio and Iheart radio almost daily. It is wonderful. Through these sources the standard speaker system sounds just as good as the 3D system.
People who give up on MBrace are clearly missing the boat. Mind you, in the beginning of 2014 it took me 6 months of almost daily conversations with MBrace Tech support to get this to work. But I now love the MBrace apps. I also use almost daily the Travel Journal. I have also added MBrace on my son’s 2013 E Class. I have got this poorly implemented technology (on the part of MBrace) to work fabulously through tons of persistence on my part (and a lot of aggravation). I would not live without MBrace.
The other reason I would not live without the security features on MBrace has to do with what happens when one is in a very bad accident. I totaled my “14 S Class when an idiot forced me off the interstate highway by hitting my front end and forcing my car off the highway to hit a tree at 60 mph. I lived to tell this story by the safety of the S Class and man was it comforting after my car came to rest after hitting a tree at 60 mph and the car being suspended off the ground tangled in a tree.

For me there are separate charges for the accident monitoring and music/hotspot. The problem is it won't connect at all except to talk to MBrace support. I have spent about 45 minutes twice so far trying to get it to connect with no luck. They charge about $15 a month for this and so far not worth it at all. What did they do for you exactly that got it to work/connect?For me they sent a ping and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.
Thanks

Making matters worse, the pre-2018 models use Verizon's 3G CDMA system, which is being progressively shut down. Sometime in 2019 or 2020, all of these towers are supposed to be turned off permanently. Canada did this in Jan 2017.
