Funny you posted this because we feel the same way. Our Maybach lacks this option sadly. Our Next One will have it because we often close the shades when driving in the day because the sunroof is not dark enough........
Did you ever consider Ceramic Tint, say 70%. This will keep the heat out and darken just a bit.
I don't really get why the magic sky is all that big a deal, I rarely use mine. If you want the sun in the car leave the shade open, if you dont close the shade. I wouldn't have spent the money on this option if I had bought the car new, but the car had this option in it already so thats fine as I wanted all the other options but not this one so much.
I have it on mine. Not really an option I'd pay for, plus it gives me extra concerns in case it gets damaged (due to repair costs and insurance complaints), but I like it. It gives some brightness inside the cabin without becoming too annoying and without darkening it (when the cover is shut).
What is part number for the glass with Magic Sky ? Is anything more required to replace 'standard' sunroof with Magic Sky (of course programming via SD) ?
Thanks,
Mario

I'm also curious about this. My wife's Venza has the equivalent and I love the feature, far more than her. But I'd love to add it to my S-class.

not sure on the part # but someone’s here died and it was $11,500 to replace. I wouldn’t go there.
I’m not a sunroof person so never really thought about it. My car came with it so it’s there. And now on a trip I figured I’d see what it’s like. And damn, it’s pretty cool. It creates a deep blue tint sunroof and when the sun is right it casts a cool blue tint over in interior - pictures just barely capture the blue but it really lights up. Don’t think I’d pay for it new but to have it is nice and it’s definitely a bonus for rear seat passengers. Harder to see/enjoy up front.
