Well Streamliner, I agree with everything you said about this car. Wolfman, thanks for your tips on negotiating, I ended up getting another car but you helped me considerably. flint350, fyi: the MB dealer I purchased the car from agreed to hard wire my radar detector, not sure how but I will post more details after it's done.

So, for me, it's a completely different car than my 2015 S550V4.

It's much quieter, even with run flats, compared to my 550 with regular tires

The MBC/Curve is amazing. AMAZING. We have large speed bumps on our street coming into our neighborhood, the car goes over them like magic, you just feel a little disturbance, I mean a little. The curve function is so cool, like a motorcycle leans into a curve. I had to slow down considerably with the 550, now speed makes no difference, the car just absorbs the bumps.

The car feels more refined, more precise, better in every way.

I spend a lot of time in my car on the phone, usually with the car parked so I don't crash, so it serves as a mobile office for me, with MB hotspot wifi service it works quite well, can run 8 devices off the wifi hot spot of the car

not sure I would have ordered the exact colors myself, but it looks good in person, good enough for me anyway lol

yes, I agree, the designo package really is much nicer leather, I didn't know that until now, but I remember your favorable comments regarding designo pkg

the layout in the back is comfortable, the tray tables are very functional, like sitting first class in an airplane, AC outlet, HDMI and USB ports, remotes operate the monitors and the car functions so I can really control everything from the back seat, lots of leg room as the front passenger seat moves really far forward and controlled from the back seat, good AC in the back which is necessary with the heat in Arizona, I had the dealer install limo dark tint on the back windows for privacy and comfort. Also has built in DVD player and wireless headphones, all good quality.

I have been shopping for a while and all the S560's, from several different dealers, had similar lease offers, none of which were favorable. All were in the 1750+ per month, even for much lower MSRP's in the 120's

I realized that the more options on the car, the higher the MSRP, the same discount percentage resulted in a greater cash discount. So the lease payments were not that much higher. In my case, I'm paying another 200/month for all the extras, which for me is worth it.

Auto Nation dealers are a no haggle dealership, they automatically discount MRSP's by about 10%. So I used their offers as a starting point for negotiation.

You helped me understand what to expect for the MF, which I was able to get down below 1. No MSD's required.

So, I didn't get anywhere near the deal I did with the '15 S550, but at least I got the car I wanted

 

That's what matters most! Unfortunately the days of MY15 bargains are done.

To me, the options are what deliver much of the enjoyment when driving the car. Interior and ride quality options just make such big difference and for that reason our cars are usually well spec'd. In that regards, the S-Class is a real bargain compared to other high-end luxury sedans.

I agree, comparing other cars of similar quality, you really get a lot of car for the money

the fit and finish is impressive

the magic sky control works better than on our '14 SL 550, darker and lighter when on/off, very functional and no need to use the covers

the strong smell of leather is really nice with the designo, reminds me of the old jags with that rich leather smell

knowing how well the MBC/Curve functions, it's a must have for ride/comfort IMO

I'm using a suction cup portable Max 360, which works "ok"

was considering a fully installed unit but given it's a leased car, will stay with the portable unit
