New Exhaust and ECU

New Exhaust and ECU
Finally got around to getting more work done on my s550. A few months ago I got my resonator deleted and replaced with x pipe. Sounded good but not a huge difference. I have now gotten my exhaust done about as much as can be done without going downpipes which I think would be absurd on this car. I like the sound and definitely worth the money. Clip sent by the shop who did the work. Picking up the car in the AM. Also got Weistec ECU stage 1. My next steps will be new wheels and blackout package on all the chrome.....May get the car wrapped but I really love the metallic black paint on the car.

picking car car up in the am so will know after that. I’ve had resonator deleted already and that didn’t cause any drone, so I don’t know if it will have any now. And when You say “loudness” what exactly do you mean? I mean...it’s defintely louder than stock, but I wouldn’t say obnoxious.

I am very interested in the Reums exhaust. Does it have electronic valves like it says in the description? And, did you get the center pipes from them too or just the exhaust half?

just picke up the car and to be honest with you, it’s a must if you’re thinking about it! For 2200$ it’s well worth it IMO. So yes, the valves are electronically controlled and integrated into cars system. So putting the car in S opens both valves while I believe having the car in E closes one valve. I’ve tested both out and you definitely hear a difference. No drone. Gives the car a nice growl. I’ll do a start up in the morning and get some more sound clips for you because it was very frustrating not being able to find many videos online!

from what I understand and the way the shop foreman explained it to me, is that the Remus exhaust valves integrates with the cars factory vacuumed valve control??? Again, I’m no expert but that’s how it was explained. I can definitely hear a difference from E to S.

no worries man. So they take out my ECU and flash it, and send it back. So I dropped my car to the shop Tuesday morning and the car was done (ECU shipped back) and exhaust installed by Thursday afternoon. Good turnaround time. It is odd for some reason they took down the w222 from their site it used to be up there about 4 months ago. I do believe they also have stage two but IMO stage two may be a little much for the 7 speed transmission. I was expecting this stage 1 to smooth out the shifts, it did a little...marginal at best. Power on the other hand is a dramatic increase.

Thanks, I just emailed them. The S550 to my knowledge has no factory exhaust valves, only the S63 has that feature.....

Interesting. Heres another quick clip of the start up. The video with the phone being so close to exhaust makes it sound very brutal lol Its not this viscous in person, as you won't have your ear right at the muffler. Enjoy.

Nice OP. Got an extra ECU for those interested for sale if you want to keep your original ECU stock for dealer visit and the extra ECU for a tune. Most tuners can clone the ECU to your car ( got to send both ECU in for cloning. PM me if your interested.

Hi Ksellers I was just on the Remus website looking for a exhaust, did you buy the exhaust and silencers.
I have the stock exhaust set up right now, im thinking of just buying the remus exhaust, will just the exhaust give a nice rumble sound or should I buy the silencers too, any info appreciated

Question, where did you get the extra ECU? Was it new, then cloned? I would like to Keep the stock one and have them Tune the extra. I know its overkill, but I would rather have the original, in case I need to bring it in for service. If they wipe it, I would have to sent it out again for re-flash.

Hi. I got the ECU from eBay for $850 plus shipping. It is from a donor S63 ( W222 ) from what I was told. I have a Renntech tune on my S63 from a second ECU I had purchased early last year and was going to upgrade to a Weistec stage 3 tune with this ECU and turbo upgrades, but decided I have enough power to satisfy my needs therefore sell this ECU.
You can contact your tuner of choice and provide them with the ECU number to verify this ECU can be use with your car before purchase. Selling it for what i paid for it plus shipping.
Please PM of your interested.
Thank you.
