Crashy Ride and Vibration in new S560

Traded my 2018 E63 for the 2018 S560 SWB about a month ago, in part to get a much smoother/more comfortable ride, and a roomier front seat.Have had the car about a month, and find the ride/handling on smooth pavement to be exceptional, but on any sharp cracks, bumps or depressions in the pavement, get way more harshness into the car than I would have expected from an S Class Merc. Today I was on a washboard road, and it felt like the wheels were going to fall off.My car has the 20 inch wheels, Pirelli tires, and the air suspension. Also noted that there seems to be a slight vibration on the steering wheel at highway speeds. Had the wheels rebalanced, but no improvement.Anyone else note either problem with theirs?

Got the 20" with Pirelli tires on the S450.

Even @ 90 mph no vibrating on the steering wheel.

20” wheels on a W222, with Run Flat Tires, driven on less than ribbon smooth highways, is a recipe for disappointment. I know, I know: the 20’s just look SO great, but the sidewalls are too shallow and the RFT have particularly stiff sidewalls, so when the road gets rough, the ride quality goes down the toilet. My 2018 S560 was ordered with 18” wheels. Then, I had the RFT removed and replaced with VERY soft riding conventional tires. The ride quality and lack of road noise is phenomenal! My car may not look like something Darth Vader might drive, but I don’t give a damn. I look at those S65’s driving alongside me, in bumper to bumper L.A. traffic and I just laugh and laugh.

I have the 19’s and have experienced the same issue with the whole car “shuddering” from the bumps in the road. I have a 2015 S550. Spoke to the dealer, they said it’s my tires, which are not RFT. Being 50% tread left they say the my are picking up all the bumps in the road. They have it right now and are going to check the airmatic settings. For an S class it should shake the entire car regardless of the tires.

20" Pirelli RFT's provided a harsher feel and hollow sound when driving over poor roads and more noise/vibration was carried into the cabin. Switching to conventional All season (Conti DWS 6) tires took care of that.
No vibration here. Also check tire pressure. S550's used to have alignment issues on the front (AWD) that ended up wearing the outer edges on both. This could be felt at the steering wheel. Needs a accurate alignment, not just to default spec.
That said, the car should feel nothing like the E63s. That car is five times as stiff in comfort as the S-Class is in Sport Plus. Either way, tires will make the biggest difference IMO.
