Mercedes Benz giving up and turning to Tesla ???
I heard that the new EQC will be carrying Tesla batteries and drivetrains since M.B. has given up, at least temporarily, to build and provide an in-source battery factory and related parts on its own. I know that they wanted to furnish their own batteries and drivetrain components and software but this may not happen. What happened to change all this?

Not ready in time. They are ready to build the cars, but don't have the architecture in place for producing the batteries and motors yet. MB builds many of their major components in house, they will get there eventually I believe, but for now they need to sell electric cars to compete, so the batteries gotta come from somewhere, and Tesla is the best option.

Mercedes is building at least 2 battery factories now. One in the U.S. and one in Europe I believe so I have no idea where this is coming from.

Even if this true. It would be a nice payback since Musk even said in a interview that if it was not for Diamler's investment into Tesla they would not even exist to this day.
