Cost of service varies considerably across the country. Southern California has several dealers which leads to price competition. Until a couple of years ago, "A" service could be had for about $150 and "B" for less than $300. Currently "A" can be fount for about $200 and "B" $430.
Four years service = $1260 (2 "A" + 2 "B") Which is less the $1750 plan. In other areas of the country, the $1750 plan may be less expensive than the dealer cost for the individual services.

I paid 13 dollars on EBAY for access to Mercedes WIS and just follow the directions and do the maintenance myself. It costs about 80 dollars to do an oil change on the v12 engine. 160 for the transmission fluid change.......

Dealers make money in two areas, selling used cars and the service department. I look at these service packages as a complete rip off but that is just me. I like to do most of the work myself including brakes, fluids and oil/filter changes. These cars are actually very easy to work on if you have basic mechanical abilities and a set of tools. Short of that I would find a good indy and develop a relationship with them for the major repairs.

I have a good indy and full set of tools myself...I do alot of wrk myself. this car happens to still be under warty. I could have done the oil w a vaccuum pump in 10 mins...looking back maybe I should of! I dont want a reason for any warty repairs to not be covered.

I agree with you with one question.... Did you actually do the Transmission Service? It is a very specific / critical procedure.. It is not a Drain, drop pan, install filter, refill... Fill from bottom, warm up fluid to a specific temp, then check again etc.... You really cant mess up the items below, but the transmission is one I have to back off on for now. I would be interested if you can post the procedure. Thanks for the feedback
I have a mild case of OCD, so I do the below on just about all my cars, keeps my OCD in check
Oil Change Simple and gives you a reason to check the under carriage for any leaks etc. Mobile 1 Syn and filters at Walmart (Mercedes OEM) with Free delivery. 5Q Oil less than $24.00.
Brake Fluid Flush, simple procedure with a small investment in a MOTIVE flush kit. I do all my cars every 2 years, for the most part a simple process, takes me about 35 to 40 min.
Turbo Reservoir, Suction / refill 50/50 Mercedes Antifreeze every year. think its less than a quart....
Radiator Overflow, suction / refill 50/50 Mercedes Antifreeze every year, almost a gallon...
Air Filters, on amazon OEM, replace every 2 years
Cabin Air Filters, OEM, replace every 2 years
Keeps my brain happy!

Im usually the same, I would never do the trans service myself. I dont have a lift..yet.
Btw if the car wasnt under warty, Id nvr bring it back to the dealer. But it is so you gotta pay to play.

Our ceiling height is a bit challenged too. Ours is 10' 6" but good enough for cars like this. 13-14ft is ideal you need to stack SUV's. Still tall enough to get under the car to do work and you can jack up the car while on the lift to work on brakes/suspension, wheels, etc.

10'6 huh... I have to look more into it. My orig plans for the gar has been scrapped, and needed a new c of o for my entire house which would hav opened up a can of never ending worms.Ill look into building a detached gar which may make it easier. Right now the 2 cars that would stay in there would be my viper and m3 which are both low... perhaps the s under one of those.
