What determining factors does MB use to CPO a S550?
Hi all. I'm just beginning my search for a 2015 and i've come across a few nice ones in the color schemes and the options I prefer but, I noticed they weren't CPO where others without the options were. Is it due to the amount of miles that the vehicle may have been driven? Can someone elaborate? I really appreciate it. Thanks.

also dealers choose if they want put car in CPO or not....
If you find a car and it is not CPO ask the dealer to make it CPO as part of deal and they can do it..
just adds to cost of car as you basically paying for that extended year of warranty....

yes, I had the dealer cpo my car.... with that they had to do all new brakes and rear tires. the cpo cars are sorted Pro. Like I said i looked for the right 222 and the few private sales that were avail were the people that paid 120k for the car and couldnt fathum it being wrth half.... so the dealers were better priced too. lol

I was wondering if the dealers could do that. Thanks for this information.

they cant cpo every car bc they dont all qualify, but if its within the terms they can. Keep in mind if the car is new enough alot of times they dont need to cpo it bc it still has factory warty left..like mine did.

Thanks for this additional information. I am concerned with all the technology that is in these Benz's today and to make sure that I can get all the warranty protection that's available.

My primary concern would be mileage and condition, not necessarily CPO. I picked my non-CPO car up last year, a 2015 with spotless carfax and 17K miles for a lot less than a comparable CPO car. It was still under the factory warranty and I took it to my local dealer for an inspection and they could find nothing wrong with it. Brakes had been replaced at 10K miles for a noise issue and tires were still fine. I have now owned it for about a year and it has performed flawlessly and I have had no warranty for about the last 8 months. I considered an aftermarket warranty but decided to self insure as these cars are fairly sorted at this point. Warranties are nice but they typically do not pan out unless you have a catastrophic failure, which is very rare on this model.

Mine did not charge anything as it was still under warranty. I think they did it as a courtesy to try and get me as a customer.

at 17k miles the car still to low to really need anything. Again there are exceptions. But that car as a cpo would still be under warty w the possibility to extend that cpo another 2 years for 3600. . 15's at this point have little to no warty left but are going to be the cheaper compared to a 16-17 cpo. Nowwwww you may be able to find a 16 with another year of factory coverage for the same price as a 15 w 12 mos of cpo coverage.
