Also, watch the video from AGA for the instructions on the MBC tool. You must remove the filter and insert the tool where the filter is normally located. This is what allows the fluid to be replaced without bleeding each line.
I used an inexpensive battery operated pump to do mine. It is also useful for filling the 7 speed transmission in my S-65.

You're not going to get the fluid sent to the corners of the car. Just that circulated through the pump. A Rodeo will be helpful for mixing it up. I'm disappointed MB eliminated the bleeders at each corner as found in the 221. Made getting fresh fluid everywhere easy.

Agree it's not perfect in total replacement but it does a pretty good job after the rodeo warm-up.
If you watch the video AGA has showing a tech performing the flush, you can see the results of the flush in the bottom of the bucket with small particles and debris he got out of the system.
I think replacement of several liters has got to be better than the 1 liter you can suck out of the filter reservoir.

Sounds good. I'll order a filter on amazon, they list them as for ABC only up to model year 2012 but looks like the one in my 2018 should be the same, I'll take the gamble for $20.00. If not I'll return it. Thanks for the help guys, it sounds like a fairly simple thing as long as I'm careful not to contaminate the system. Thats probably the reason MB recommends doing nothing as more harm than good could be done if a tech at a dealership was careless and got some dirt in the system. At least doing it myself I know I wouldn't get dirt in the system as I'll take a lot of precautions not too.

Just ordered the filter for $24 total on Amazon Hopefully be a good enough in quality. How does the filter come out of the plastic frame with the o rings on either side? Just twist it or something? Sounds like a simple enough job and one of the best things I can do for the car which is in like new condition with 81K miles on it now. Trying as hard as I can to avoid expensive repairs down the road as this car is a long term keeper.

I should know better than to go and look at the MBC thread. The car decided to burp out a liter of ABC oil. This implies that one of the accumulators has joined the rainbow bridge club; leaving a mess around the reservoir and under the car. Ahhhh....

Oh wow that’s not good. It’s a pretty complex suspension setup and scares the heck outta me as it gets older. But when it’s working it’s the absolute best setup possible. I get nervous I’ll be driving from Florida back up to Rhode Island and the car is gonna be kneeling to the ground and have to flat bedded. I should probably organize a list of good independent mb repair shops between Fla and RI just incase. I really would prefer to avoid it flat bedded to a mb dealer because even if it were just a accumulator it would probably be a 10k bill

good luck John with your car. Hopefully an easy fix.

Peter will assist this evening with sniffing out which of the accumulators has packed it in. I'm not worried about it. Easy fix.

FWIW having a membership with Peter AKA BenzNinja is money very well spent indeed.

Peter is now offering a more catchy tune for making the car more amusing. Engine and transmission software upgrade that adds 98hp and 255lb/ft.

Wow great advice I think I’ll sign up with him on this S560. Would be nice having over 560 hp and he could probably get me the amg dash graphics and id like to program it so the electronic flappers in the mufflers stay open all the time to get a little more sound when driving normally.

I see it’s around a $576 lifetime membership fee. Would the tune be included in that?

The tune I referenced is for the 279 engine. S-65. Ask what he offers for your car and a price sheet. He offers many software changes that should have come as standard. You will love the changes. The bent eight in your car can be turned up.

Peter AKA @BenzNinja assisted with remoting into the car via Xentry from across the pond this afternoon. Always love watching the professional at work. I’ve learned new tricks. The car is better for his efforts. Get that membership and the equipment guys. Pays for itself the FIRST TIME you need his help and you then own the computer.
