Oil Dip Stick Location for 2015

Greetings all,

I need to check the oil level on my car and according to the operator's manual, the Oil Dip Stick should be in front of the Oil filler cap. I've looked and I do not see anything there unless it's under the black plastic cover. I did notice a dip stick towards the right rear of the engine (drivers side) that I highlighted in RED. Can someone help me out on this one. Appreciate it! Thanks.

I have a 2016 and it is a red dipstick right in front of the plastic cover front of the oil cap as you described.

That's it. Make sure when you test oil level, you remove and re-insert and test a 2nd time. For some reason on this engine, a vacuum will occur causing the oil to be sucked out of the dipstick causing you to believe the car is very low on oil.

Yes indeed! I have to get used to this type of dip stick. Way, way different from my 1987 420 SEL. Thanks.

NOTE: Be Extra Careful if you remove Snorkel(s) if doing your own Air Filter Change. They Break / Split on the soft tube extremely easy..... And cost over $75- to replace each...

New to S Class. All my other Mercs alerted on the dash if oil got low. Will a 2015 S550 do the same?
